Big government at its best is barely tolerable, at its worst insufferable!
"From SEC enforcement mechanisms, to cargo planes full of baby formula, the week’s news has revolved around our overgrown administrative state. Higgs’s classic book shows how we got a government so bloated and expansive that it has to invoke defense crisis legislation to make up for its other agencies’ misguided economic and safety regulations. Crisis begets big government. And all too often, big government begets crisis, perpetuating the cycle. "
