FDA approves new coronavirus test that could speed rate of testing up to tenfold

This is a strong reminder that the usual FDA approval process is way too long! Perhaps in the past there was some justification for such lengthy approval processes, but given our today's knowledge and technology it does not make much sense anymore! Plus, by law the FDA has to verify safety and efficacy of a new drug! The latter objective should be stricken!
