Unfortunately, I often receive encrypted hyperlinks to recent research articles that when clicked on open a PDF file in the Chrome browser.
It appears, there is also no way to stop the ongoing load of a PDF file. Some PDF files are very large. So annoying!
It appears, these are the only settings of the browser that allow you to do two equally stupid and not very helpful things with such links:
