Good news! Bravo! One of the few countries of the OECD to pull off a government budget surplus in times of high and lasting price inflation!
Other OECD member countries, especially the U.S., would be well advised to return to the fiscally sound policy of balanced budgets!
"Israel reported a fiscal surplus of NIS 9.8 billion in the 12 months ending December 31, 2022, representing 0.6% of GDP, the Ministry of Finance Accountant General reports. This was the first time since 1987 that Israel recorded more revenue than expenditure."
