Thailand and Indonesia gear up for return of millions of Chinese tourists

More than 20-30 years ago it was almost unthinkable that citizens from a communist country would travel the world and non communist tourist destination countries were eager to do business with them!

It appears Chinese tourism has become a serious economic factor for some of the destination countries.

"China's reopening raises hopes for the return of Chinese visitors, who accounted for nearly a third of Thailand's 40 million foreign tourist arrivals in pre-pandemic 2019.
The government expects at least five million Chinese tourists this year, with some 300,000 in the first quarter." (Reuters)
