Ukraine to Try Russian Soldier for War Crimes

Good news! They are not waisting time in the Ukraine! 

Such early war crimes tribunals could have a serious impact not least on the Russian people! What will the Russian parents say when they learn their son is being indicted of war crimes in the Ukraine? Will they only be glad to know that he survived the fighting and will not be killed or will they start asking questions?

"The country’s prosecutor-general said an investigation found the 21-year-old had fired several shots Feb. 28 at an unarmed man in the northeastern village of Chupakhivka. The 62-year-old died on the spot just steps from his home. The tank-division commander faces 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment if convicted. The prosecutor-general’s office also identified about 40 members of the Russian military it suspects of war crimes, a few of whom were in custody. ..."

"A Russian soldier in Ukrainian custody will be the first to stand trial on war-crimes charges, Ukraine’s prosecutor-general said Wednesday, after an investigation alleged he fatally shot at an unarmed 62-year-old man near his home in northeastern Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova said her office filed an indictment on charges of violating the laws and customs of war against the 21-year-old tank-division commander, identified as Vadim Shishimarin. He could face life imprisonment. ..."
