This week (12/2/2013) it was reported e.g. here (German language) that the Chinese Renminbi surpassed the Euro in international export/import financing at 9% v. 7% for the Euro.

In the German newspaper article above, the journalist is not remiss to mention that the US Dollar and the Euro still dominate financial transactions and the the Renminbi is primarily used in the Asia-Pacific region.
