Official opening of the world's first industrial scale carbon capture and storage facility in Norway

Bad news! Obsession over the Global Warming hoax and Climate Change religion is good for some businesses!

Is carbon capture and storage (CCS) a waste of money? Most likely so and a huge one! Invest in nuclear fusion or hydrogen power please! However, it demonstrates that human ingenuity can remove any amount of CO2 from the atmosphere if really necessary (which is not the case)!

Again the German tree huggers and climate lunatics are behind this!

"Brevik CCS is Heidelberg Materials' most advanced CCS project.  Brevik CCS is part of the Norwegian government's Longship programme, which aims to demonstrate the capture, transport and safe storage of CO₂ from industrial sources.

Addressing climate change is crucial, and the cement industry is a major emitter. While significant emission reductions have been achieved within the industry through alternative fuels and materials, further steps are necessary to meet climate targets. ..."

"
  • Festive opening of Brevik CCS in Norway, the world’s first industrial-scale carbon, capture, and storage (CCS) facility in the cement industry
  • Facility officially inaugurated by H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and more than 320 guests, including Terje Aasland, Energy Minister of Norway
  • Brevik CCS will capture around 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year facilitating the production of evoZero, the world’s first carbon captured cement enabling net-zero concrete
  • First CO₂ already successfully captured, liquefied, and temporarily stored; injection into the subsea reservoirs is scheduled to begin in August
  • More than 1.2 million hours of technical precision work carried out by an on-site team of up to 400 employees and external partners
  • As a first-of-its-kind project in the cement sector, Brevik CCS is an important blueprint for future CCS projects worldwide
