Some pattern seem to repeat itself again and again! Too much of anything is bad!
E.g. there was the computer game craze (1970s), followed by the video game craze (ca. 1980s) ... Once into such a craze comes the recognition of excess!
How much can computer substitute for human interaction and relations or even reality? To be glued to a computer display for hours and hours?
Or is this a case of wishful thinking by the author of this WSJ article?
"Many 20-somethings are now trying to break the all-consuming TikTok habit they got into during the pandemic. They started noticing that it got in the way of sleep, work, household chores and relationships. Some even say it has kept them from chasing their own creative dreams. They are now deleting the app in pursuit of more in-person experiences and tidier homes. Leaving the app behind can feel a bit like leaving society—or at least accepting a big gap in pop-culture knowledge."
