It appears to me that Jewish people are very fond of genealogy. It is reported that some Jews are able to trace back their family tree several hundred if not more than thousand or even two thousand years back.
The horror of the Holocaust appears to have contributed to a much more increased interest in Jewish genealogy by Jewish people.

When you Google the term dozens of websites are listed offering to help with your research of Jewish genealogy.
The Arizona Jewish Society features the Phoenix Jewish Genealogy Group.
