What has been a real health emergency over the past several decades is the fact that too many pregnancies are terminated by abortion in the U.S.. Currently it is about 1 in 5 pregnancies or about 930,000 abortions per year. Abortion is no substitute for neglected contraception not to mention the risks to the health of the women who have abortions!
