However, I have little doubt that those who signed this letter also noticed that France had a recent series of really bad presidents since about Francois Mitterand (1981-1995). After Mitterand clowns such as Nicolas Sarkozy (2007-12) and Francois Hollande (2012-17) ruled. The current president Emmanuel Macron (2017-) also appears to be young and unimpressive!
