It is one of these incredible nationwide scandals in the U.S. that federal regulations have turned dishwashers into almost useless appliances to save water and electricity. And this has gone on for at least one decade if not much longer! My fairly new dishwasher (Maytag) takes 2-3 hours for one cycle no matter which program you choose. Too many dishes come out dirty afterwards. It is very frustrating!
