Since we are living in an era where enormous challenges to traditional academic education is under way from the Internet it is opportune to delve into this subject of our current obsession with secondary education. E.g. most politicians try to sell college education as a must.
What about the many dropouts who have lived a distinguished career and whose intellect is surely comparable to the one of any graduate?
What about the many extraordinary achievers who never had a or had only little formal education? E.g. Michael Faraday? Those self-educated geniuses!
