How many individuals kick their habit eventually? I bet quite a few.
On a positive note: Adolescent use of marijuana seems to be trending downward since 2021. Similar substance use disorders. (see infographics below).

These showed that around 21.4 million Americans used marijuana daily or near-daily last year. Compare that to the 19.9 million Americans who smoked daily and the 17.2 million who drank alcohol at least 20 days a month.

2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) Releases "Conducted annually, the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) provides nationally representative data on the use of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs; substance use disorders; mental health conditions; suicidal thoughts and behavior; and receipt of substance use and mental health treatment among the civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 or older in the United States. NSDUH estimates allow researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and the general public to better understand and improve the nation’s behavioral health. These reports and detailed tables present national estimates from the 2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH)."
