The bitter end of the Donald Trump and Elon Musk relationship

What happened? Who is guilty of what? This seems to be more and deeper than a fleeting anger or a temporary disagreement.

"Long-simmering tensions between President Trump and Elon Musk burst into the open.

They traded barbs and insults, signaling the disintegration of a relationship that had been one of the most consequential in modern U.S. politics.

The president threatened to eliminate government subsidies and contracts for Musk’s businesses, while the Tesla CEO called Trump “ungrateful” after his support during the 2024 campaign.

Musk floated the idea of starting a third political party and agreed with a tweet that Trump should be impeached.

Tesla’s market value declined around $152.4 billion, its biggest one-day slide on record."
