"Russia is constructing a new garrison for an artillery brigade in Kandalaksha, signalling a permanent increase in troop numbers near Finland’s eastern border, according to recent satellite imagery.

The garrison, part of the closed military town Lupche-Savino, lies 110 kilometres from the Finnish border. It will house both an artillery and an engineer brigade, totalling over 2,000 soldiers.
