On Espionage with Chinese Characteristics

What a weird and disappointing article! It has very little to offer on Chinese communist espionage!

The article, nevertheless, is a recommendable brief summary of economic developments in China since about 1850s.

It is a fairly well known fact that e.g. the former Soviet Union and its empire would not have survived that long had it not been for e.g. extensive and intensive industrial espionage against the West.

This is basically all this article says about the subject:
"... Critical to this achievement in the late 20th and early 21st centuries has been China’s unprecedented use of industrial espionage—particularly through cyber means. But we discuss those issues all the time [???] and my main goal here was simply to review some of the most salient historical context to our current situation. ..."
