About Black History Months colors and flag

I just received an email from my friendly public library of Phoenix, AZ containing the  image below and advertising the Voices: Black History Month and to join the celebration.

Then there is the liberal Atlas Network that also sent me an email containing "There's no better way to celebrate #blackhistorymonth than with the release of the latest film in our Dignity Unbound video series, Better Work.". Really!

For lack of time and space, I will here only briefly touch on some of the subjects related to the Black History Months colors and flag:

That these colors are loaded with historical distortions, propaganda and demagoguery should be obvious to anyone (see also the so called pan-African interpretation of these colors depicted below)!

One of the references to these colors can be found in the traditional flag of Ethiopia and the current flag of Zimbabwe. Both countries certainly do not represent the entire sub-Saharan Africa!

One ought come away with the impression that sub-Saharan Africa was a peaceful community of people free of slavery who lived in paradise before the colonial powers arrived and invaded. This is utter nonsense!

"... The Universal Negro Catechism, published by the UNIA in 1921, refers to the colors of the flag meaning:
Red is the color of the blood which men must shed for their redemption and liberty; black is the color of the noble and distinguished race to which we belong; green is the color of the luxuriant vegetation of our Motherland. ..."

People of black skin color living in Africa are not a race. There are a lot of very distinct peoples living in Africa today and in the past! The reference to "noble and distinguished" is possibly alluding to black supremacy!
