Europe is scrambling to break its dependence on Musk’s satellites with French Eutelsat

Good news, but expect more space junk! Long overdue that the EU is trying to catch up!

So 27 countries want to compete with one man? 😊 An old german quote goes like "Many foes, much honor" (Viel feind, viel Ehr, this quote is not meant literally here)!

Supposedly, Eutelsat is the third largest satellite operator by revenue.

"European authorities, increasingly worried about their reliance on Elon Musk’s Starlink, are turning to a homegrown alternative, Eutelsat. They're pushing the company to provide a backup in Ukraine as quickly as possible. However, doubts remain that it can compete anytime soon."
