The endowment, which is run by Harvard Management Company, “boasted a 9.6 percent return on its investments in fiscal year 2024.” Its chief investments are in “private equity and hedge funds, with private equity accounting for 39 percent of the portfolio and hedge funds accounting for 32 percent.”
In fiscal year 2024, Harvard had a budget surplus of $45 million. The previous year, it had a surplus of $186 million. ..."
