Very concerning!
An attempt to blow up the otherwise successful and beneficial North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA, signed in 1992) is like to play with fire.
If it is indeed true that Canada and Mexico have done too little and were very lax to prevent or interdict illegal drug trafficking into the US, then perhaps serious negotiations first and then threats if unsuccessful.
What if Canada and/or Mexico retaliate? What if a vicious cycle of measures and countermeasures ensues? Trade wars were common in the past and they were destructive and everyone loses.
"... Trump said Mexico and Canada will each face a 25% tariff. The tariff on China will be [additional] 10% [on top of 60%]. ..."
