Donald Trump is not my most favorite candidate! He too is perhaps too old and he too represents a trend towards gerontocracy in Western countries.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (age 45): I am not sure whether he made mistakes or what happened. Was he too young?
Commonwealth of Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (age 57): Was he not interested? Was he too much of a gentleman or too airy or too sublime?
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (age 66): Was he too old? Or did he not want the highest executive office anymore? He turned out to be e.g. too lenient and very sluggish as far as the mass illegal immigration is concerned. He should have mobilized the Texas Rangers etc. to secure the border of Lone Star state. That was expected of him, but he terribly failed in this respect!
And what about all the famous and celebrity GOP U.S. Senators? Were they not ambitious enough? What happened with them?
In conclusion, Donald Trump almost had no choice but to be the become the next candidate again with a very good chance to win.
