Uvalde police officer asked permission to shoot gunman before gunman entered the school but got no answer

How crazy is that!!! Defies any common sense!

I venture to guess at that time the suspect had already fired his first few shots outside of the school before he entered the school. In such an active shooter situation, there is no time for a police officer on site to ask a supervisor for permission!

In these times of defund the police and other unreasonable demands to fight perceived police violence, police officers naturally choose to play it safe before they loose their job or end up in jail.
