Shrinkflation has come to single use bottled water in the U.S.

Yesterday, I visited a Walmart store and low and behold the typical single use one gallon plastic bottle of water has shrunk from from 3.78 to 3.00 liters, but the price was about the same or higher as before.

Very well hidden. The bottles look almost the same on the shelf!

Is this the clandestine introduction of the metric system by Walmart? And Walmart prefers to round down what clearly should be rounded up, i.e. from 3.78 to 4.0 liters! 😄

P.S. the shelves for single use bottled water of larger than 1 liter looked kind of empty. Was this a restocking or staffing issue? Or is this similar to the long lasting shortage of baby formula?
Sorry, I forgot to take a picture.
