High Absence From Work Due To Sickness In Germany

Trigger

Brief summary: At any given day, on average four out 100 employees anywhere in Germany are reported sick and not at work. Regional variations are fairly small. Almost 51% of all employees reported sick at least once during 2013.

Observations

I briefly checked OECD, ILO for comparable international statistics, but it appears these national statistics are not easily available or comparable as so often the case with economic statistics.

But it strikes me that the numbers for Germany are on the high side compared to other Western industrialized countries or even emerging economies.
