- "In the global climate models (GCMs) most of the warming that has taken place since 1950 is attributed to human activity. Historically, however, there have been large climatic variations. Temperature reconstructions indicate that there is a ‘warming’ trend that seems to have been going on for as long as approximately 400 years. Prior to the last 250 years or so, such a trend could only be due to natural causes. " (p. 5)
- "Recently, Zharkova (2020) and Zharkova et al. (2015) have studied the role of the solar background magnetic field in defining solar activity. By applying principal component analysis, they were able to quantify the observed magnitudes of magnetic field at different times and consequently make long-term prediction of solar activity on a millennium timescale. Their approach revealed a presence of not only 11-year solar cycles but also of grand solar cycles with duration of 350–400 years." (p. 12)
- "According to the research by these authors there will be an upcoming grand solar minimum, when solar magnetic field and its magnetic activity will be reduced by 70 per cent. During this grand minimum, one would expect a reduction of the average terrestrial temperature, ceteris paribus, by up to 1.0°C in the decade 2031–2043." (p. 12)
- "... At the outset, it is not entirely clear what it means to track global temperatures over time since global temperatures are not observed, they are constructs. Unfortunately, there is, as mentioned above, no obvious way of how global temperatures should be constructed, as it is not clear how the temperature output from GCMs should be interpreted." (p. 16)
- "A weakness of the tests reviewed above is that the time series of measurement errors in the global temperature constructs most likely are non-stationary with unknown properties." (p. 18)

The PFAS chemicals scare
What would the world be like without alarmism and hysteria! The health risks appear to be significantly exaggerated if not vague.
Almost on a daily basis, we are inundated with news stories etc. telling us about the dangers of PFAS, the forever chemicals.
Apparently, also the definition of these chemicals have changed over the years. There are perhaps thousands of different chemicals falling into this category. What about the beneficial effects?
What is dangerous about forever? Is this the most scary aspect of these chemicals? Diamonds are forever too!
They were invented in the 1930s, apparently industrial production started already in the 1940s.
So now in the 3 decade of the 21st century, we are to believe that these ubiquitous chemicals in use for more than 80 years are dangerous. Ain't that peculiar!

Overcharged Expectations: Unmasking the True Costs of Electric Vehicles
- The cost of producing electric vehicles (EVs) is far higher than the prices they are being sold for. Nearly $22 billion in federal and state subsidies and regulatory credits suppressed the retail price of EVs in 2021 by an average of almost $50,000.
- Thanks to an unlawful multiplier, EVs receive nearly seven times more credits under federal fuel efficiency programs than they provide in actual fuel economy benefits.
- Regulatory credits with bonus EV multipliers from federal fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions standards and state EV sales mandates provide an average of $27,881 in benefits per vehicle for producers of EVs.
- Home and public charging stations used by EVs put a significant strain on the electric grid, resulting in an average of $11,833 in socialized costs per EV over 10 years, which are shouldered by utility ratepayers and taxpayers.
- Direct state and federal subsidies for EVs average $8,984 per vehicle over 10 years.

But the biggest advantage of NorthPole is also a constraint: it can only easily pull from the memory it has onboard. ...
