Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Announces Nearly $100M for homelessness and mental illness care

"Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced in Houston on Friday that eight communities will receive a total of $96 million for homelessness and mental illness care.

Kennedy visited a Houston Christian shelter and recovery center called Open Door, serving men experiencing homelessness and addiction, where he announced the new Safety Through Recovery, Engagement, and Evidence-based Treatment and Support, or STREETS, program. ...

Communities in Ohio, Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas, West Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, and Louisiana will receive $3 million a year for four years, Kennedy announced. ...
