Good news! Google takes action! How lenient is Chinese law enforcement or worse is it even tolerated by the communist party of China?
"Google filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against a cybercriminal group largely based in China for operating a massive SMS phishing, or “smishing,” scheme that used fraudulent text messages impersonating popular services like the E-ZPass highway toll agency and the U.S. Postal Service.
The group uses a Phishing-as-a-Service kit called “Lighthouse” to create fake websites, which Google alleges has compromised an estimated tens of millions of credit cards across more than 120 countries by tricking victims into submitting sensitive financial information.
Google is seeking to dismantle the organization and platform through legal action under the RICO, Lanham, and Computer Fraud and Abuse Acts."
