I have been a loyal and happy customer for many years buying my customized laptops from Dell.
Today, I decided it was time to buy a new laptop for myself to replace my aging and failing Dell Inspiron.
Once I found the right basic laptop for me on the Dell website, I started to customize features like memory, storage etc.
Whenever I customized one feature, several other features were automatically changed as well and often not to my benefit or liking. It was like bait and switch or like whack a mole. I tried both, Latitude and Inspiron.
Or in the case of operating system, I selected Linux, but once I drilled down on the right laptop to customize further, I discovered that Linux was not available anymore.
Well, I ended up with a fully customized Lenovo Thinkpad. And it was also cheaper than comparable Dell laptops. The customization that Lenovo offered reminded me of Dell in times past.
