Google Maps annoyances

Let's say you get the directions for your destination and you interactively rearrange the Google Maps proposed route by dragging it on the map to your liking. 

However, then Google Maps will totally ignore your route rearrangement when you e.g. send the directions to your phone. This is surprisingly primitive, amateurish and unprofessional!

Quite often the route proposals by Google Maps are like going zigzag multiple times from start to destination especially when you exclude highways. Perhaps, this is very efficient and time saving route planning, but this is often for me not very acceptable due to e.g. unfamiliarity with the areas etc. etc.
