The brain drain from developing to developed countries is not a new phenomenon! It is several decades old if not a century or more.
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health phrased this as: Health Worker Exodus [???] Exacerbates Inequality [???]. Really! What a foolish, narrow minded opinion!
Not mentioned in this lousy article:
- Regularly significant remittances and all the benefits that come with it
- Does e.g. Cameroon train more medical staff than needed domestically?
- When do these emigrants typically return to Cameroon or other countries of Africa?
"... One pipeline: Cameroon to Canada. About a third of last year's medical graduates from Cameroon have already left the country for higher-paying jobs in North America and Europe. ..."
