The very high and persistent inflation of professors in the U.S.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics in 2020 there were about 519,000 professors (all professors including assistant and associate) active in the U.S. (Source)

Well, that translates roughly into one professor for every 634 U.S. citizens.

What do many of these professors produce all day? How much pseudo science? How much propaganda & demagoguery, ideology & indoctrination? How about academic grade inflation? And so on ...

I would boldly and crudely estimate that perhaps as many as one third of these professors are unqualified and superfluous! If they were dismissed, how much would this e.g. lower tuition costs?

I bet, the situation is not so much different in many other Western countries!
