Zhengzhou (Name of the capital of Henan province)
In simplified Chinese: 郑州
In traditional Chinese: 鄭州

You tell me what is simpler? Probably, I have just chosen a bad example. Pardon, my ignorance! 😊
At least rapid progress in machine translation makes it now almost possible to translate many Chinese texts instantly into many other languages and vice versa.
Maybe in the not so distant future the Chinese and other Asian or Indian people will switch to the real simple Latin alphabet. Just dreaming ...
Because, the rest of the world will probably not ever going to adopt to Asian or Indian characters.
It would be a great advance in human progress if we all used only one set of characters for writing.
It is also quite possible that writing systems (like stone tablets before) will disappear over time as digitalization and AI make further progress.
Caveat: I am not an expert on the written Chinese or other Asian languages.
