The Dawn Of A Brain Cell Revolution

Posted: 8/30/2018

Trigger

Just in the past few weeks two scientific papers were published describing the discovery of two new, different neurons in the human brain:
At least one (dubbed rosehip neurons) of which is unique to human brains but they are not found in mice (rodents).

Expect Much More To Come Fast

After the famous Human Genome Project (completed in 2003), scientists are working on remaining frontiers like the brain (e.g. Human Connectome Project) or the gut (Human Microbiome Project).

Both above papers were published within less than three weeks. You can almost hold your breath as to when the next brain cell discovery will be published (just kidding, don’t try).

In the first paper, we learn that these researchers made use of a new methylation pattern analysis.

Are you ready for the ride of your life! :-)
