Let's not forget these individuals/criminals are knowingly facilitating to sell illegal drugs to American citizens suffering from addiction. These drug traffickers accept knowingly that thousands of Americans per year will be killed by overdosing etc.
Poverty or lack of economic opportunities, as some intellectuals will again argue lazily and deceptively, is no or a very vacuous excuse!
How lucrative and safe was it actually for these mostly men to work in this now very dangerous line of (illicit) business? I bet greed and disregard by these men was part of it. Did they have to fear any prosecution in their home countries or from their countries of operation? I am afraid perhaps not very much!
The fact that Chinese companies are suspected to be involved with producing and delivering large amounts of precursor chemicals to Latin American drug traffickers. If confirmed, then this qualifies as hybrid warfare by the Communist Party of China. Remember Sun Tzu's famous book The Art of War published some 2500 years ago.
President Theodore Roosevelt once coined the expression "Speak softly and carry a big stick!". Is it possible that President Trump now is swinging a big stick? Sometimes, but not often, it is necessary!
