Nigeria prime minster says country's president gave Trump 'go ahead' for air strikes on ISIS camps "Trump said he ordered the strikes in northwest Nigeria in response to the terrorist group "killing innocent Christians.""
Update of 12/27/2025 (2/3): "Surveillance since at least November
The increased intelligence gathering and monitoring followed Trump’s calls to address the ongoing persecution of Christians and combat the spread of terrorism in the region. According to a report by Reuters, surveillance flights have been conducted since late November, with aircraft operated by Mississippi-based contractor Tenax Aerospace flying missions from Ghana over Nigeria. ...
The Daily Caller reported that the operations aim to monitor terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, ISIS of West Africa, and the Fulani ethnic militia, which have been linked to violent attacks on Christians and moderate Muslims in Nigeria’s northern regions. A former U.S. official revealed that the missions also include efforts to locate a U.S. pilot kidnapped in Niger while working with a missionary agency. ..." (Source)

"Nigeria agrees to US intelligence support against militants
... The U.S. has been conducting intelligence-gathering flights over large parts of Nigeria since late November, according to flight tracking data and current and former U.S. officials, in a sign of increased security cooperation between the countries." Exclusive: US conducting surveillance flights over Nigeria after Trump intervention threat
May I presume these surveillance flights were conducted with the consent of the government of Nigeria.
Update of 12/27/2025 (1/3: Apparently, the Nigerian government is involved with these strikes: "Nigerian officials said they are working with U.S. partners to fight terrorism and protect lives, acknowledging Islamist violence and kidnappings in the north while denying systematic persecution of Christians." (Source, Nigeria averts unilateral U.S. action by cooperating on airstrikes "Participating in the strikes raises the risk that the government will be perceived as endorsing the Trump's language on wider sectarian strife, a sensitive issue throughout Nigeria’s history.")
Bad news for terrorists and coward mass killers on Christmas Day 2025!
Hopefully, the Nigerian government was informed and consented to these strikes.
According to Google: "Estimates of the number of Christians killed in Nigeria vary significantly depending on the source and time frame, with some reports citing over 50,000 to 125,000 deaths since 2009. Nigeria is widely considered one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian.
According to a report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), an estimated 7,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria in the first seven to eight months of 2025 alone.".

The high number of Christian killings in Nigeria in 2025 are contested and I could not find any further corroboration for it using either Google and Bing search. Then there are the usual diversionary claims that it is more complicated, ethnic or land disputes as well as other factors.
"Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!
I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.
The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.

Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper. May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues."
