IDF cyber chief warns Israel, US face far greater cyber threats than publicly known

Bad news! That is an ominous warning!

"The cyber threats which Israel and the US face are far greater than what has been reported and what the public could imagine, IDF Communications and Cyber Defense Command Chief Maj. Gen. Aviad Dagan said on Tuesday. ...

Dagan warned that there have been dozens of attacks that could have harmed real-world national critical infrastructure. ...

He was referring to the US as "our partners," given that recently, around 120 Israeli and American cyber military experts from the Cyber National Mission Force, Joint Force Headquarters Centre Army (JFHQ-C), undertook a joint cyberwarfare drill at a secure location in the US. ...

On April 23, 2020, Iran successfully hacked part of Israel's water system for the first time.

The hack was eventually blocked before the Islamic Republic could release toxic levels of chlorine into the water supply. Still, Tehran was close to success and had penetrated initial digital defenses. ..."
