Did this man not handle his pardon very well?

At around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, 42-year-old Matthew Huttle of Hobart was pulled over by a sheriff's deputy of Jasper County, located in the northwestern part of Indiana less than an hour south of Gary. Preliminary investigations by the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Lowell Post revealed that today, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on S.R. 14 east of C.R. 475 E. This location is near the Pulaski County line on S.R. 14. During the traffic stop, the officer attempted to arrest the suspect when the suspect resisted. An altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer firing his weapon and fatally wounding the suspect. The investigation also shows that during the traffic stop, the suspect was in possession of a firearm. ..."
