I had already a hunch that the WCK had irresponsibly and recklessly endangered their aid workers. See also my previous posts here and here.
Finally, today I googled when the attack happened as it is obviously underreported or even not reported at all in Western media etc..: "According to the military, Israeli forces began striking the World Central Kitchen convoy at 10:09 p.m. on Monday, as the vehicles made their way along Gaza's coast. The attack killed six foreign nationals and a Palestinian, all of whom had handled the food aid that had arrived in Gaza by sea." (Source)
Here is today's Wall Street Journal brief report about the incident (as you can see WSJ does not mention the time of the attack at all):
"The Israeli drone team that killed seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen lacked the evidence to order the strikes, an Israeli military investigation found.
The team, which mistook the workers for Hamas militants, twice violated the military’s operating rules, the investigation said. On Monday, they struck the aid group’s three vehicles after spotting something slung over one passenger’s shoulder, possibly a bag, which they assumed was a weapon. The military said it dismissed two officers and reprimanded three. World Central Kitchen has said its workers weren’t armed. The organization, one of Gaza’s most important food assistance providers, had told the proper authorities about the convoy, but those details were lost in the chain of communication, the investigation found. WCK renewed its demand for an independent investigation and said that Israel must take concrete steps to insure aid workers’ safety. WCK’s operations remain suspended."
This also represents a serious case of junk journalism!
Night time operations in an intense combat urban war zone are extremely dangerous and should be avoided! Anyone with common sense knows this!
