Arizona Supreme Court Ruling On Abortion Sparks Outrage, Earns Praise

Update of 4/12/2024: "The historic ruling is a just one, not only for the sanctity of human life, but for the rule of law.

The pre-Roe law was in effect in Arizona when Roe v Wade was decided in January of 1973. The law was reaffirmed again in the late 70’s.  Only Roe kept our law from being enforced. In addition, the state Legislature had several opportunities to repeal the law and never did. With Roe overturned, the law should rightly go back into effect." (Source: Center for Arizona Policy)

Very recommendable!

Most other media reports and public comments about the recent Arizona Supreme Court decision are thinly veiled if not sometimes extreme pro abortion propaganda and demagoguery!

Here some remarks:
  1. Arizona legislators for many decades failed or did not feel any necessity to modernize the existing law from 1864. Thus, the Supreme Court had no choice, but to reaffirm existing law.
  2. Abortion is not the sole and exclusive right of the woman. The unborn life and even the father have rights too e.g. when the sex was consensual and there was a relationship between the woman and the man. E.g. the father can offer to take custody of the child. In the battle of the sexes, men better beware!
  3. To give up a newborn baby for adoption is another option besides abortion
  4. The time window for an abortion should be limited to the first trimester and not much further unless incest or rape was involved. 
  5. It is the responsibility of everyone involved in sexual activities to prevent unwanted pregnancies
  6. Perhaps one day in the not so distant future, we don't need pregnancies anymore for procreation, but until then ...
