Mass invasion by phony asylum seekers? Who can handle such an enormous number?
"The number of applications for asylum that the U.S. received during its 2023 fiscal year, up from 76,000 in 2013. A single application can cover multiple family members, so the number of people seeking asylum is higher. Asylum has become a loophole for migrants who want better working opportunities in the U.S., even if they don’t face persecution in their home countries. Asylum nearly guarantees entry into the U.S. and effectively allows applicants to stay for years while their cases wend their way through the courts."
