Prologue
This blog post is meant to be more of a thesis and it is unfinished! I also admit I had no chance to research this subject in more depth. My knowledge of philosophy, even Western philosophy, is regrettably limited.
It is very possible that I am by far not the first one to come across this oddity or coincidence in human history.
Thesis
It appears that philosophy advanced tremendously in two very different, far away corners of the world, i.e. in Greece and in China, at about the same time, i.e. around 500 BC to 200 BC or so. See e.g. the Hundred Schools Of Thought in China.
In both cases, the advances made more than 2000 years ago were followed by hundreds of years of backwardness or even suppression in the Occident and in China.
Unfortunately, I believe, many people in Western countries are not aware of it.
Where there any links between these two centers?
Where there other centers on earth around this time?
