I am a news junky! And Latin America has always been on my radar!
One of my suspicions is that public relations with a global focus and use of English language are sorely lacking!
No matter how much high quality machine translation has progressed the heavy use of Spanish only can be a huge barrier since I am not a Spanish speaker. Au contraire, why are Latin American sources not using machine translation more to get their news, messages etc. out to the world?
Case in point: Fundación Libertad of Argentina (also part of the Atlas Network). This non-profit think tank may provide excellent information on Javier Milei and his reforms, but their entire website is almost exclusively in Spanish!
