It seems so.
To my surprise, I just learnt from this article Chinese bitcoin mining gear makers set sights on world's largest bitcoin IPOs that two of the largest crypto currency mining gear makers (i.e. Canaan Creative & ZheJiang Ebang Communication Co) are from China.
Another article reports that in China “individuals are free to trade as they wish – Chinese yuan to Bitcoin is the most traded daily fiat to Bitcoin pair.” (source).
