Lousy Weather During Winter 2017 And 2018 In Arizona

Posted: 1/14/2017  Updated: 2/7/2019, 1/21/2017

Update Of 2/7/2019

This Winter (2018/19) again Phoenix Metro suffered an ugly Winter. There were about 30 or more days where the sky was mostly overcast (>80%) in dreary gray, all day long, quite depressive. There were frequent rains during this period.

Update Of 1/21/2017

The lousy weather here in Arizona continued. We had at least four more days of mostly overcast days, at least one more day of rain. Last weekend was dismal. This weekend does not look so much better.

Original Post

I usually do not like at all to blog about weather conditions, but this time it is different. :-)
This is absolutely not an attempt to advocate or blame Global Warming (a.k.a. Climate Change).

Over the past 2-3 months, Phoenix, Arizona, in my observation, has experienced at least 15 days, where the sky was largely overcast with greyish, huge clouds and very little sunshine during the whole day. Often times these days of comprehensive overcasts occurred two or three days in a row.

Further, over the same 2-3 months, there were probably 10 or more days of rain, frequently heavy and long lasting rains. Several weekends were now ruined weather wise, which is probably very unusual for Arizona.

I am bringing this up, because we live here in Phoenix, AZ now since 2009 and this extended period of lousy weather is unusual and depressing!

I wish I had the time and could find a weather research source to confirm my observations!
