The list of outdated/superseded scientific theories in
the history of science is long (see Wikipedia). In the not so distant future
Climate Change/Global Warming will be added to it. This is a very probable outcome.
How much did Climate Change/Global Warming contribute to scientific progress?
In my opinion it is more an impediment than a promoter.

Dressed As Science
More probable, Climate Change/Global Warming does not make
it into the list of outdated/superseded scientific theories, but in the future will
be properly classified as a pseudo science.
