Rolling Stones threaten to sue Trump over using their songs

Can't get no satisfaction! Cause I try and I try and I try and I try (hit song from 1965)

What does this tell you? That intellectual property rights are way too extensive! Famous Rolling Stones songs are 40-50 years old now! These songs should be in the public domain now!!!

"As a general rule, for works created after January 1, 1978, copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 70 years." (Source). This is extreme and not warranted!

Unfortunately, the Founders made a huge mistake not to be more specific about intellectual property rights in the U.S. Constitution!

"Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8 of the Constitution gives Congress the power “to promote the Progress of Science and Useful arts, by securing, for limited Times, to Authors and Inventors, the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.”

I don't believe the Founders had in mind the life of the author plus an additional 70 years!
