Date: 7/10/2014

Let me try to summarize my thoughts on this subject as follows:
  1. Big Government run health care does not work, never has! As observed, nobody is responsible for anything. Nobody gets fired, because they are government employees protected by labor unions.
  2. VA health care should be largely and completely privatised.
  3. Veterans deserve to be treated for their injuries etc. suffered during their service in the best possible way until the end of their lives and it should be paid for by government. But a government run health care system is not necessary at all! Whether family members of
  4. That only the VA health care system is capable of treating veterans with their alleged unique needs is a red herring argument. Any of the doctors working at VA health care could be offering their services in the private sector as well. Former military doctors are most likely willing to treat any veteran any time. Why would not private sector doctors be willing to specialize on special needs of veterans like PTSD or brain trauma etc.?

Some Other Notes

Just read that the VA requires annual income reporting for being enrolled in the VA health care system. Now “VA will automatically match income information obtained from the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration”. Since when does a private health insurance require such reporting?
