However, besides his well deserved achievements, let's not forget he also enabled the horrible SED chancellor Angela Merkel and tarnished so his otherwise remarkable political career! (Hint: SED is the German acronym for the former communist party of East Germany). SED Chancellor Merkel turned Germany into a banana republic (e.g. uncontrolled mass immigration).
Reportedly, he was not a friend of federalism!
The Berlin Wall fell and with the reunification of Germany, however socialism spread throughout Germany thereafter. Schäuble is partially to blame for this too!
He was one of those too many lifetime career politicians of Western democracies. Term limits for all elected representatives is an important and very long overdue reform of Western democracies!
